For some years now acclaimed wealth management firm, headquartered in the Cotswolds town of Cirencester, St James's Place has been the biggest firm in Gloucestershire by turnover. Its last set of accounts shows a turnover of over £1 billion.

Mears Group PLC

Turnover: £959,600,000

Brockworth-headquartered public company Mears Group provides and manages thousands of homes for local and central government and is responsible for keeping over 750,000 social housing homes in the UK in good repair. It has an estimated 5,400 employees nationwide and in 2022 its turnover was £959.6 million — an increase of nine per cent on the previous year.

Renishaw PLC

Turnover: £688,600,000

Renishaw not only produces quality products, it enables businesses around the globe to do the same. The Wotton-under-Edge-based company is involved in sectors from aerospace to medical and employs an estimated 5,165 people worldwide including more than 300 apprentices, with a turnover of £688.6 million according to the latest accounts filed at Companies House.

BASF Metals Recycling

Turnover: £683,149,000

Formerly Engelhard Sales Ltd, Cinderford-headquartered BASF Metals Recycling specialises in recycling catalytic converters from cars — and for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, it turned over more than £683 million.

Superdry PLC

Turnover: £622,500,000

Fashion firm founded by Julian Dunkerton on a market stall, Superdry's last set of published accounts show a turnover of £622.5 million, with 2,453 UK employees. In 2024, it is set to undergo a major restructuring plan after exiting the London Stock Exchange.

PHINIA Delphi UK Ltd

Turnover: £588,872,000

Separating from BorgWarner in July 2023, PHINIA is a global fuel and electrical systems developer and provider headquartered in Stonehouse. It employs 1,490 people and saw turnover rise from £543 million in 2021 to £588 million as of December 2022.

Ecclesiastical Insurance Office

Turnover: £586,484,000

Long-established firm Ecclesiastical Insurance may be known for its insurance services, but it's so much more than that, too. As part of the Benefact Group, donated £24 million to charity and good causes — bringing the total amount since 2014 to £222.2 million. Insurance revenue at the Brockworth-headquartered firm grew in the year to Sunday 31 December 2023 to just over £586 million.

Green Britain Group Limited

Turnover: £550,600,000

Comprised of Ecotricity, Forest Green Rovers FC and more, this Stroud-based sustainability-led group aims to use business to fight climate change. As of April 2023, turnover jumped from £346.3 million to £550.6 million — with Ecotricity reporting a total profit of £38.8 million.

Masstock Arable (UK) Limited t/a Agrii

Turnover: £392,876,000

This Andoversford-headquartered business provides agronomy services and technologies to support farming systems under the trading name Agrii. Revenue for Masstock Arable (UK) Limited was more than £392 million for the year ending Sunday 31 July 2022, up from £300 million in 2021.

NOV Downhole Eurasia Limited

Turnover: £375,209,749

Based in Stonehouse, NOV Downhole Eurasia Limited operates as a division of its worldwide parent company National Oilwell Varco. It is a market leader in providing traditional and bespoke tools for complex drilling projects. The group employs 1,107 staff members and NOV Downhole Eurasia turned over an estimated GBP equivalent of £375.2 million ($469,194,000) in the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022.

GE Aviation Systems Limited

Turnover: £325,540,026

Part of the mighty American business GE Aerospace, GE Aviation Systems Limited has its UK headquarters in Bishop’s Cleeve in Cheltenham, from where it's a leader in technology for the aerospace and defence sectors. Its UK turnover is listed in American dollars, but we worked it out to be roughly £325.5 million ($406,062,000).

Derek Raphael (Holdings) Limited

Turnover: £255,065,246

Asset management firm, Derek Raphael (Holdings) Limited was founded in 1985 and operates from its offices in Cirencester. Its turnover is also listed in dollars, with a GBP estimate of just over £255 million ($320,341,165) as of Saturday 31 December 2022.

Cotswold Motor Group Limited

Turnover: £214,631,390

A mighty dealership, Cotswold Motor Group Limited is positioned at the Cheltenham end of the Golden Valley, and saw turnover for the business — which is reliant on new vehicles from BMW and Mini — rise up from £179.2 million to £214.6 million for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022.

International Plywood PLC

Turnover: £210,278,704

In an extremely competitive market, Stonehouse-headquartered International Plywood PLC remains one of the largest independent importers in the sector, something it started doing in 1981 when David Attwood started the business. Turnover for the year ending Sunday 30 April 2023 was £210.2 million.

Nuvias Global Services Limited t/a Infinigate

Turnover: £200,084,000

Cybersecurity firm, Infinigate has global offices located across Europe, the Middle East and South Africa — with a UK base in South Cerney, Cirencester. As of March 2023, its latest reports, filed under Nuvias Global Services Limited, show a turnover of just over £200 million — predominantly garnered in the UK.

Dentex Healthcare Group Limited

Turnover: £196,521,379

Announcing the merger with Cheltenham's Portman Dental Care in 2022, Dentex Health is moving to become PortmanDentex in the near future. But the corporate dentistry organisation reported an increased turnover from £124,785,102 in 2022 to over £196.5 million in March 2023.

Marble Power Limited

Turnover: £172,963,200

Business energy provider, Marble Power promises to be 'honest, reliable and flexible' in its service to clients across the country. For the year ending Friday 31 March 2023, the Quedgeley-based business reported an impressive increase in turnover from £99.2 million in 2022 to £172 million.

Kohler Mira Limited t/a Mira Showers

Turnover: £162,226,000

One of Gloucestershire’s biggest manufacturers and success stories, Mira Showers employs around 760 staff at its Cheltenham base, where it makes its highly-regarded showers, bathroom taps and accessories. It's seen a turnover increase to £162.2 million, according to its last published annual accounts for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022.

Spirax-Sarco Limited

Turnover: £145,768,000

Cheltenham-headquartered engineering firm, Spirax-Sarco Engineering employs an estimated 1,100 people in the UK, and its turnover increased from £131,988,000 in 2021 to over £145 million as reported in December 2022.

Dairy Partners Limited

Turnover: £138,900,000

This Stonehouse-based business supplies dairy products to the UK foodservice and export sectors. Revenue for Dairy Partners the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 grew by 33 per cent from £104.3 million in 2021 to over £138 million — the firm employs an estimated 180 staff members, too.

Howard Tenens Limited

Turnover: £129,382,000

Accounts for the year ending Friday 30 September 2023 for Stroud-based logistics firm, Howard Tenens highlight promising increases after 'difficult trading conditions' in 2022, reaching £129 million with group staff numbers at almost 800.

ONTIC Engineering & Manufacturing UK Limited

Turnover: £123,419,000

It is hard to overestimate how significant this Bishop's Cleeve-based business is to the aerospace sector. A trusted partner of world-leading aerospace industry members, ONTIC's turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 rose to just over £98 million ($123,419,000) with staff numbers reaching 453.

Glatfelter Lydney, Ltd

Turnover: £118,036,000

Gladfelter Lydney's turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 reached £118 million, a 24 per cent rise from 2021 reports. The Forest of Dean-headquartered firm, with staff numbers topping 279, is a ‘leading global supplier of engineered materials'.

Sodra Wood Limited

Turnover: £112,288,000

A Cirencester firm, Sodra Wood, which employs 33 people, saw a turnover of £112.2 million in its year to Sunday 31 December 2023 — a 31 per cent reduction from 2022, attributed to falling timber prices. However, the sustainable wood solutions company's pre-tax profit increased to £2.9 million from £2.5 million in 2022.

Advanced Innergy Holdings LTD

Turnover: £111,289,617

Rebranded AIS, the global leader in the engineering and manufacture of specialist materials, insulation and passive fire protection systems reported a staggering revenue increase from £62.96 million to £111 million for the year ending Saturday 30 September 2023, with staff numbers also increasing from 411 to almost 600.

Futura Foods UK Limited

Turnover: £108,130,511

Dursley-based Mediterranean cheese specialists, Futura Foods UK has battled increased costs due to 'global and political uncertainties' such as the wars in Ukraine and Gaza — global events that are 'continuously monitored by directors'. Nevertheless, its turnover has remained steady from £109 million in 2022 to £108 million for the year ending Sunday 31 December 2023.

BRG Technologies Limited

Turnover: £106,920,000

Staverton Technology Park-headquartered business, BRG Technologies — formerly Bladeroom Holdings — is a leader in mission critical offsite construction of data centres and healthcare facilities. It posted record turnover of £106.9 million for the year ending Friday 31 March 2023, growing from its previous record of £98.6 million in 2022.

SPP Pumps Limited

Turnover: £101,876,023

Another mighty Gloucestershire firm which sits safely in the keeping of a much larger group of worldwide businesses, Coleford-based SPP Pumps makes pumps as big as you can imagine for businesses as big as they come — and employs 359 people to do so. Turnover for the year ending Sunday 31 December 2023 increased drastically to £101.9 million, up from £85.6 million in 2022.

Creed Catering Supplies Limited

Turnover: £101,418,078

Creed Catering Supplies provides a broad range of wholesale food products to the leisure, education, hospitality and care sectors and is run by the Creed family, employing almost 400 staff. The family firm achieved a significant milestone, passing £100 million turnover in its 50th year — with success continuing in 2022 reports. Its total turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 reached more than £101 million.

Malvern Tyres Holdings Limited

Turnover: £97,481,016

Established more than 35 years ago, Malvern Tyres is one of largest independent tyre and auto repair specialists in the UK — which you may be surprised has its registered office in Gloucester. Its turnover for the year ended Wednesday 30 November 2022 was over £97 million, up from £91,276,436 in 2021.

Barnwood Group Limited

Turnover: £94,132,401

A builder as synonymous with Gloucester as it is with quality, Barnwood Limited is a group of Gloucester-headquartered businesses that saw turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 total £94 million with staff numbers at 198. It commented that the risks were successfully managed 'primarily thanks to our people, who continue to go above and beyond with their commitment and performance.

JSP Limited

Turnover: £86,819,000

Employing an estimated 430 people and registered at St. James Square in Cheltenham, JSP is a leader in manufacturing 'above the neck' personal protective equipment — with stockists and manufacturing locations found across the globe. For the year ending Friday 31 March 2023, it turned over more than £86 million.

Cotteswold Dairy Limited

Turnover: £86,401,215

This family firm has risen from one man and a van delivering milk, to one of Tewkesbury’s biggest employers. Cotteswold Dairy's turnover saw a large increase from £68,293,759 to £86.4 million up to the date of Saturday 31 December 2022. During the same year, it employed an estimated 427 staff members.

IDEMIA UK Limited

Turnover: £81,424,000

This firm is described as a global leader in 'trusted identities'. It helps us interact, pay, connect travel and vote in ways made possible only by our digital world. Founded in 1999 with an estimated 320 staff and a manufacturing base in Tewkesbury, IDEMIA saw turnover reach £81.4 million for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022.

Commercial Corporate Services Limited

Turnover: £80,953,933

If an office needs it, Commercial by Nature probably has it. Turnover for the Cheltenham firm rose impressively to more than £80 million for the year ending Friday 30 June 2023 from £69,728,415 in 2022. In 2023, its Commercial Foundation, which support young adults who have experienced barriers to work or education, also achieved the sought-after B Corp status.

Spectrum Medical Group Limited

Turnover: £74,862,282

Spectrum Medical's global headquarters is situated in Gloucester's Meteor Business Park and its worldwide operations provide healthcare solutions to hospitals in more than 60 countries. Its turnover rose from £62,245,442 in 2021 to more than £74 million for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022.

Smith's (Gloucester) Limited

Turnover: £74,481,539

A Stonehouse-headquartered business, Smith's is dedicated to the collection, treatment and disposal of non-hazardous waste and construction of civil engineering projects. A family business, it now employs two generations — and in the year ending Friday 30 September 2022 it reported a turnover of just over £74 million up from £61,409,355 the previous year.

IONOS Cloud Limited

Turnover: £70,912,000

This domain name hosting and website services specialist is based in the heart of Gloucester at 154 Southgate Street. For the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, IONOS Cloud's's turnover reached £70.9 million.

P & M Group Limited (THE)

Turnover: £70,604,383

The P & M Group is a market leader in the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of cold stores, fire walls, data centres and clean rooms and is headquartered at Llanthony Road, Gloucester. Turnover for the year ending Tuesday 31 January 2023 rose from £52,734,554 to an impressive £70.6 million, with staff numbers amounting to 173 for the group in 2023.

O'Neill and Brennan Construction Limited

Turnover: £69,933,413

Forest of Dean-headquartered in Lydney, O'Neill and Brennan has been using its wealth of experience and knowledge to provide solutions to the construction industry for more than 30 years. For the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, its turnover hit £69.9 million — with an estimated 1,100 employees.

Clarkson Evans Holdings Limited

Turnover: £69,539,918

Founded in 1981 by Steve Evans, Clarkson Evans came to being after the company began employing apprentices — one being Steve Clarkson. It's now turning over more than £69.5 million for the year ending Friday 30 September 2022, with a HQ in Gloucester it works with the UK's leading housebuilders and has branches across the country.

E.G.Carter & Company Limited

Turnover: £69,440,107

Fourth-generation family-run construction firm, E G Carter delivers a range of building services throughout the midlands and the south west. It saw its turnover decrease from £84,985,339 in 2022 to £69.4 million in the year ending Friday 30 June 2023. It credited the difference to 'some delays to the starting of a number of larger contracts and the decision to avoid contracts where returns were estimated to be too low.'

Severn & Wye Smokery Limited

Turnover: £67,535,770

A fascinating food business, Severn & Wye Smokery is a real champion for the environment and the Forest of Dean, running a respected restaurant in Westbury-on-Severn and exporting produce to the rest of the world. Turnover for the year ending Friday 31 March 2023 rose from £52,506,613 the previous year, reaching £67.5 million.

Newland Homes Limited

Turnover: £67,092,347

Barnwood-based Newland Homes revealed in April 2024 that it almost halved its carbon emissions in its mission to become a more sustainable housebuilder. For the year ending Saturday 31st December 2022, its turnover decreased to £67 million from £83,352,082 in 2021. Though its turnover has recovered by 36 per cent since 2020, it attributes the decline to 'the economic uncertainty brought about by the fall out from the short Liz Truss premiership.'

Accommodation Services (Holdings) Limited

Turnover: £65,579,000

Active since 1999, Accommodation Services has a registered office in Tewkesbury and operates as an industrial developer — with a single subsidiary Integrated Accommodation Services plc (IAS), which has a 30 year project agreement with the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, providing the design, construction, financing, service and maintenance of new facilities. Accomodation Services (Holdings) Limited reported a turnover of more than £65 million in December 2022.

UK Power Solutions Limited

Turnover: £63,560,000

One of the UK’s leading multi-utility connection providers for new-build residential, industrial and commercial projects, Stonehouse firm UK Power Solutions said it has continued to invest heavily by increasing headcount, providing a platform for further growth. For the year ending Friday 31 March 2023, turnover was down five per cent to £65 million, but its order intake was up by 11 per cent 'driven by an increase in residential projects. Its staff numbers also rose to 412 from 374.

Moog Controls Limited

Turnover: £63,064,000

The British arm of the American giant of the same name has been in Gloucestershire for over 50 years and is a market leader in the manufacture and servicing of electro-hydraulic servo control mechanisms for use in aerospace and Formula 1. In the year ending Saturday 1 October 2022, Ashchurch-based Moog turned over £63 million and employed 500 staff.

Freemans Event Partners Holdings LTD

Turnover: £61,486,426

For the year ended Tuesday 31 January 2023, turnover for Gloucester-headquartered family firm Freemans Event Partners in the incredibly competitive market supplying food, drinks and consumables to the event and stadium-going public — including the British F1 Grand Prix at Silverstone — grew exponentially from £37,140,653 to over £61 million,  with staff numbers reaching 118.

Off-Piste Wines Limited

Turnover: £60,142,000

Turnover for Cheltenham wine import business, Off-Piste Wines, rose 24 per cent from £48,336,000 to £60.1 million for the year ending Friday 31 March 2023. Gross profit for the year also grew by nine per cent to £8 million after the company 'pivoted into new markets after the conflict in Ukraine severely impacted trade in the country.'

Aurora Care and Education Holdings Limited

Turnover: £58,226,630

The Aurora Group, established in 2015, says it's the sixth largest provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities — across its network of schools, colleges and residential homes. Headquartered in Tewkesbury, it filed a turnover for the year ending Sunday 30 April 2023 of £58.2 million.

L3Harris TRL Technology Limited

Turnover: £55,257,000

Another business with a headquarters in Tewkesbury, L3Harris is a specialist in defence electronics focusing on the design, manufacture, supply and support of high-grade secure communication products, precision surveillance, monitoring and counter measures products. Operating across 12 UK sites, in the year ending Friday 30 December 2022 its turnover reached over £55 million.

UCAS Limited

Turnover: £54,039,000

Every application to UK universities is handled through Cheltenham-headquartered UCAS. According to its last published accounts for the year ending Monday 31 July 2023, turnover is reported at just over £54 million, with its website being visited by millions of prospective students from across the globe. Staff numbers were 546, up from 480 in 2022.

Simplicity Tech Group Limited

Turnover: £53,725,930

Registered in Vantage Point Business Village in Mitcheldean, Simplicity provides a variety of services to the recruitment industry, from back-office facilities to the provision of temporary staff. The Forest of Dean company saw turnover stabilise at £53 million for the year ended Friday 31 March 2023.

Watts of Lydney Group Limited

Turnover: £52,547,000

Another business thriving in the Forest of Dean, family business Watts of Lydney announced a turnover in its latest annual results for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, rising from £44,457,000 to £52.5 million — the group employs 169 staff, too.

Hercules Real Estate Limited

Turnover: £52,032,628

Cirencester firm, Hercules Real Estate has seen an approximate 58 per cent increase in turnover, from £32,940,419 in 2021 to £58 million in the year ending Friday 30 September 2022 — with an average of 282 employees, up from 154, in the same year.

Hollingsworth & Vose Company (UK) Limited

Turnover: £51,456,000

Dealing in paper and paperboard, this Winchcombe-based business is an arm of a vast and complex American-headquartered company, which describes itself as a global leader in filtration and energy. Hollingsworth and Vose reported a turnover of reached over £51 million for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, up from £43,970,000.

BDP Imports Holdings LTD t/a Bramblecrest

Turnover: £51,412,166

BDP Imports supplies outdoor furniture and trades as Bramblecrest, headquartered in Frampton Mansell in Stroud. The company saw 'continued high demand for garden furniture as the trend for outdoor living continued to rise and consumers invested in their gardens.' Turnover in the year ending Wednesday 30 November 2022 rose from £42,341,000 the previous year to £51.4 million.

Wiggin LLP

Turnover: £51,018,899

A law firm specialising in media, technology and IP, Wiggin LLP has bases in Edinburgh, Brussels, London and Cheltenham. It reported a turnover of £51 million in the year ended Friday 31 March 2023, with a £20 million profit before tax — with 231 staff members.

Procurri Europe Maintenance Limited

Turnover: £50,654,000

This Cirencester-headquartered firm is a specialist in the refurbishment, trading and remarketing of IBM, Sun, Fujitsu, HP and Cisco computers. Procurri operates on an international basis and for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 it achieved a turnover of more than £50 million. Staff numbers reached 183 for the same year.

Woodlodge Holdings Limited

Turnover: £49,986,096

Woodlodge Holdings Limited has two principle subsidiaries; Woodlodge Products and Terrastyle, both operating principally in the UK — and it's registered office is in Tetbury. Specialising in garden products designed by its in-house team of 140 staff members. For the year ending Sunday 31 July 2022, it reported a turnover of more than £49 million. 

Ubico Limited

Turnover: £49,837,000

Cheltenham-headquartered Ubico is a company operating for Gloucestershire County Council, Gloucester City CouncilCheltenham and Tewkesbury Borough Councils and Cotswold, Forest of Dean, Stroud Distric Councils, providing a range of environmental services including waste collection, recycling and street cleansing. In the year ending Friday 31 March 2023, turnover increased to more than £49 million — up from £37,564,000 — with staff numbers also increasing from 698 to 880. 

Panel Supplies Limited

Turnover: £49,414,169

From its registered offices in Stonehouse, Panel Supplies' turnover for the year 'reduced due to the general economic slow down'. Turnover for the year ending Sunday 30 April 2023 decreased by 11.28 per cent to £49.4 million, with pre-tax profits sitting at £1,325,211.

Hydro Building Systems UK Limited

Turnover: £48,342,000

This Tewkesbury-based firm is part of the worldwide Hydro Group, which has over 33,000 employees in more than 40 countries — and has operations in Gloucester and Cheltenham. It makes aluminium door, window and curtain walling solutions and saw a 24.4 per cent increase in turnover to £48.3 million in the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 with staff numbers of 134.

Adey Innovation Limited

Turnover: £46,712,000

Started by a former British Gas engineer, Chris Adey 'invented the very first magnetic filter' The MagnaClean — which there are now over 10 million MagnaClean filter fitters worldwide. The company Adey's turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 decreased to £46.7 million, compared to £52,565,000 in the previous year. But the directors are 'satisfied with the results of the year and the future prospects of the company.'

Newberry International Produce LTD

Turnover: £45,340,641

With a registered office in Newent Business Park, Newberry International Produce specialises in sourcing and supplying fresh and frozen fruit and veg. Its latest reports show a sales growth of 50 per cent, with a turnover of £45.3 million for the year ending Tuesday 28 February 2023.

Fasthosts Internet Limited

Turnover: £44,302,000

While Fasthosts is most well-known for being founded by then A-Level student, Andrew Michael, in 1998 and sold for £61.5 million, today the Gloucester business continues to deliver internet hosting services and domain name registration — and in the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, its turnover was £44.3 million.

BiGDUG Limited

Turnover: £42,604,029

Known to many fans of Gloucester Rugby as its current sponsor, shelving and rack specialist BiGDUG is also headquartered in the city. For its last full year to Saturday 31 December 2022, its revenue was £42.6 million. Its gross profits were steady at £16,363,155 and so too were its staff numbers at 131 for the year.

Pegasus Planning Group Limited

Turnover: £42,451,275

According to this Cirencester-headquartered planning consultancy, it 'saw a healthy supply of work from a range of development sectors' in the 2023 financial year. Turnover at Pegasus for the year ending Friday 30 June 2023 was just over £42 million, up from £37,393,838, while staff numbers sat at 409.

IT and Cloud Solutions Limited

Turnover: £40,924,000

Weird Fish Holdings Limited

This Tewkesbury-based fashion brand, founded in 1993, continues to grow with a high street presence, with turnover for the year ending Sunday 25 December 2022 reaching £39.8 million. In the first half of 2023, Weird Fish 'accelerated investment' by opening seven new resort and destination stores in the UK. It also reported huge growth in its active customer database, from 190,000 at the end of 2020 to 405,000 by the end of 2022.

Bishop Fleming LLP

Bishop Fleming is a leading independent provider of audit, accountancy, tax and advisory services and has several offices between the West Midlands and the south west, including Cheltenham. It is currently ranked fifth in the Accountancy Age Mid-Tier Power Index and is the largest provider of audit services to multi-academy trusts in the academy sector. Turnover for the 2023 financial year, was £38.4 million, and it is on track to deliver significant year-on-year growth again with a turnover of over £43 million in 2024.

Gardner Garages Limited

This family-owned petrol and convenience store retailer continues to thrive. Turnover for the year ending Monday 31 July 2023 rose from £34,504,259 to just over £38 million. Founded in 1981 by Clive Gardner, Gardner Garages now has his daughter Emma as managing director, and son, Ashton, as director.

TBS Engineering Limited

Brockworth-headquartered TBS Engineering is a specialist in the design and manufacture of lead-acid battery products for cars and trucks. In the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, it increased turnover from £29,404,867 to £37.9 million. Sales totalled over £5 million in Asia and £26 million in North America. Staff numbers were 159.

Prima Dental Manufacturing Limited

This specialist in dental burs is one of Gloucestershire’s biggest manufacturing success stories — it also took home the title of Business of the Year at the 2023 SGGBA's. Prima Dental's turnover for the year to  Saturday 31 December 2022 reached £37.6 million and staff numbers passed the 272 mark.

Intamarque Group Limited

Wholesale supplier Intamarque specialises in the distribution of branded toiletries, health and beauty and household consumable goods, from Listerine to Dove. This Cirencester-headquartered security firm specialises in ‘loss prevention and profit protection through services and solutions delivered using its specialist people, hardware and software’. Turnover for Lodge Service increased by 28 per cent to £36.3 million in the year ending Monday 31 July 2023, 'largely due to some significant new contracts within Europe'. Staff numbers were at 967.

Shipton Mill Limited

Tetbury-based Shipton Mill is famous for the production and quality of its flour. Founded in 1979 to mill flours from 'the most fantastic grains' and support farmers who promote bio-diversity, it achieved a turnover of over £35 million for the year ending Friday 31 March 2023.

Wentforth Associates Limited

Turnover: £33,797,913

Longborough-headquartered Wentforth Associates trades through subsidiaries in the sale of office furniture and office interior refurbishment and design services, as well as the sale of agricultural machinery, equipment, supplies and design services. Results filed for the year ending Monday 31 October 2022 shows a 20 per cent decrease in turnover from £42,238,577 in 2021 — but 'directors consider that the group has performed well in the year, particularly given the external factors and uncertainties.'

Elmbridge Pump Company LTD

With 40 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, Elmbridge provides products for workplace projects, from wood and industrial coatings to engineering safety equipment. The Hardwicke-based firm turned over £33.5 million, with group staff numbers estimated at 151.

Gillman Electrical Group Limited

Boasting a 'legacy of excellence since 1969' Gloucester-headquartered Gillman's is run by its second generation of the Gillman family — selling electrical home appliances from a variety of top suppliers. For the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022, its turnover hit just over £33 million.

Leeways Group Limited

Established in 1971, Leeways Packaging is one of the leading UK suppliers of thermoformed packaging solutions — operating from its base in Churcham, Gloucester. In the year ending Friday 30 June 2023, its turnover rose to £32 million, up from £25,752,916 in 2022 — results that 'were in line with expectations.'

MG Markey Group Limited

Barons Eden Limited

A collection of award-winning spa and hotel destinations — including Hoar Cross Hall in Staffordshire and Eden Hall in Nottinghamshire — Barons Eden prides itself on its individuality and operational excellence. With a registered office in Moreton-in-Marsh, it reported a turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 of £29.1 million, up from £18,797,322 in 2021.

SLG Allstars Limited

Another SGGBA 2023 winner, SLG Brands is headquartered at The Brewery Quarter in Cheltenham and is the creator and distributor of some of the high street's most fashionable beauty and grooming brands. Its turnover for the year to Saturday 31 December 2022 was £28.7 million and it employs 139 people.

Two Rivers Housing

This supplier and manager of social housing is also a housebuilder and employs an estimated 160 staff at its headquarters in Newent. Turnover at the Two Rivers Housing group for the year ending Friday 31 March 2023 reached £28.3 million.

McGurk Group Limited

This group of companies compiled by Gloucester-based brothers Eamonn and Brian McGurk recorded a turnover of £27.82 million for the year ending Wednesday 31 August 2022. McGurk Group's core activities are the provision of plant and transport services, construction, land development, domiciliary care, supported accommodation, independent living, residential and commercial property letting.

Pentwin Group Limited

Pentwin Group deals with corporate investments, operating from Swindon Village in Cheltenham. Its turnover for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022 was £27 million, up from £24,463,900 the previous year — and its group employee numbers hit 211 in the same year.

This Gloucester-based business dealing in scrap metals continues to identify precious and aircraft-grade metals. For the period Saturday 1 October 2022 to Friday 30 June 2023, turnover decreased from £50,991,771 in September 2022 to £26.9 million. The directors at Avon Metals 'believe the company is still performing well' and are 'hopeful that the company will continue to improve in the future.'

Holland Cooper Clothing

Designer fashion house, Holland Cooper — the official fashion partner of Cheltenham Racecourse — completed its year ending Friday 31 March 2023 in style, with turnover up to £26 million. Growing from strength to strength, its founder, Jade Holland Cooper, revealed her plans to expand to the US in an interview with SoGlos in 2024.

The Natural Dispensary Limited

Stroud-headquartered nutritional supplement business, The Natural Dispensary, is an independent company stocking over 18,000 practitioner prescribed products, supplying customers through online mail order. As of Friday 30 September 2022, its turnover amounted to £26 million and it employs 93 members of staff.

The principal activities of this Stonehouse-headquartered firm are the distribution of medical and scientific products. Greiner Bio-One achieved a turnover of £26.08 million for the year ending Saturday 31 December 2022. The firm said the war in Ukraine has had a significant impact on its supply chain and energy costs.
