New images have been released by TIVOLI Cinema, the company behind an indulgent boutique cinema opening inside Cheltenham’s Regent Arcade in April 2020.

Cheltenham’s new boutique cinema will be built in the basement of Regent Arcade’s former BHS store, after it was given planning permission in October 2018, and is ‘likely to be open’ in April 2020.

Hoardings surrounding the venue are going up on Monday 12 August 2019, when work on the building will commence. It’s part of a huge transformation project at the Regent Arcade shopping centre, which includes the five-screen cinema, four restaurants and a rooftop bar, in what’s described by Regent Arcade as an ‘exciting mixed-use development.’

TIVOLI Cinemas has already launched a boutique cinema with a similar theme in nearby Bath. You can see the photos of the Bath cinema in SoGlos’s news article from December 2018.

Here in Cheltenham, the new cinema is following a similar vision, with luxurious extra-wide sofas instead of seats, and individual tables where hot and cold food and drink can be served before visitors settle down to watch a film.

The venue has also announced that it will be working alongside a local chef to provide ‘indulgent takes on movie-night favourites’ with dishes such as wild boar hot dogs and gourmet burgers on the menu.

Alongside the cinema, TIVOLI plans to include a casual dining area with a licensed bar serving wine, cake and coffee throughout the day. There will also be a Director’s Lounge and Screen, which will be an exclusive hire experience for special occasions.

Justin Ribbons is the CEO of TIVOLI Cinemas, and said: ‘We are incredibly excited to finally reveal the look of our brand-new TIVOLI coming to Cheltenham next year.

‘We are so proud of the success we had in Bath and are eager to see the cinema experience continue to develop in the region.’
