The Everyman Theatre has announced it will be producing two socially distanced Christmas shows in 2020 – including the brand-new Tweedy’s ‘Reduced’ Pantomime (That Might Go A Bit Wrong!) and a new production of a Dickens’ classic.

‘Guaranteed to have more laughs than cast’, according to organisers, Tweedy’s ‘Reduced’ Pantomime will be taking to the stage from Friday 4 December 2020, with Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, produced by the Everyman Theatre in association with Box Tale Soup, opening on Saturday 19 December 2020.

Mark Goucher, Chief Executive of the Everyman Theatre, said: ‘We are all devastated by the effects of the pandemic on our industry, but we’re hoping to bring a little cheer to everyone this season.

‘The staff of the theatre and our incredible creative team have been working very hard to make sure the venue and our productions are as safe as possible. We hope that our efforts and shows, including a pantomime written specially for this unprecedented year, will be supported by audiences who feel safe and confident in the environment we create for them.’

The Everyman Theatre’s two Christmas productions will alternate in the theatre’s main auditorium and will be produced with full social distancing protocols in place, including a reconfigured seating plan, which removes several rows and reduces seating capacity to allow for safer distances. Seating will be ‘pod’ based allowing audience members to book pods of two, three, four, five or six guests.

There will also be hand-sanitising stations, dedicated arrival times for audiences, temperature checks upon arrival, and online ordering and delivery options for food and beverage at the Everyman Theatre.

Tickets for both performances are on sale now. But, with audience capacities reduced, and high anticipated demand, tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
