A popular new darts venue is set to open in Cheltenham’s Brewery Quarter.

Flight Club submitted a planning application to Cheltenham Borough Council on Tuesday 10 August 2021 which reveals plans for the darts venue which already has sites in Birmingham, Leeds, Bristol, London and Manchester.

The new venue would occupy units 11 and 12 at the Brewery Quarter, next to the Everlast Gym and opposite Nandos, joining the likes of new arrivals Mowgli and Hub Box as well as Brewdog which plans to open a new venue, too.

Described as the home of social darts, Flight Club promises a spectacular bar and restaurant, an electric atmosphere and a mind-blowing experience with several playing areas – or oches – that can be booked out to groups of up to 20 guests, with 12 people able to play social darts at any given time.

The darts games have been designed with beginners in mind, with technology that allows players to be registered on the oche while a member of staff acts as a host and shows players how it works. The venue also provides full table service for food and drinks, with the menu including sharing platters, pizza and more by simply pressing the ‘call the waiter’ button.

Nikki Kontarines, asset manager for The Brewery Quarter said: ‘We can confirm that Flight Club has expressed an interest in The Brewery Quarter. We hope that we will be able to announce further good news imminently about the opening of this extremely exciting brand.

‘This further demonstrates the ever-growing success and popularity of the scheme as a primary entertainment and lifestyle destination in the UK. Three new openings are planned at The Brewery Quarter for early 2022. We can’t wait to announce further details when able to do so!’

Flight Club would likely employ 25 full time members of staff – including five managers – and 20 part time staff. The venue plans to open from 8am to 12.30pm Sunday to Wednesday and 8am to 1.30am Thursday to Saturday.

The opening date for Cheltenham’s new Flight Club venue hasn’t been announced yet, with further planning applications needing to be submitted for the shopfront and signage.
