With a history dating back almost two centuries, Cheltenham Racecourse has become synonymous with world-class National Hunt horse racing, and from Tuesday 16 to Friday 19 March 2021, The Festival™ will be taking place once again – culminating in The Gold Cup.
While more than 265,000 racegoers usually descend on the Gloucestershire spa town for the world-famous spectacle, The Festival™ 2021 is being held behind closed doors due to government restrictions and the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
For the first time in 2021, however, horseracing fans can watch six Cheltenham Festival races each day broadcast live on ITV – a perfect excuse to dress up and plan those Zoom Race Week parties to celebrate remotely with friends and family.
Another huge development for The Festival™ 2021 is a major new charity partnership between WellChild and The Jockey Club, which will see the Cheltenham Gold Cup 2021 sponsored by the Cheltenham-headquartered charity, which helps seriously ill children and their families.

The Cheltenham roar has become synonymous with Day One, which falls on Tuesday 16 March 2021, and while this year will be a little quieter, racing fans can still enjoy stellar seven-race card, featuring the Unibet Champion Hurdle.
See the best take on the best, old champions challenged by new, and get The Festival™ week off to an absolute flyer.

Day Two of The Festival™ 2021 is often described as Ladies Day, taking place on Wednesday 17 March 2021, the day usually sees tens of thousands of racegoers add a splash of colour to Cheltenham Racecourse.
And while the hats and colourful festivities will be taking place in racing fans’ homes in 2021, the second day plays promises some thrilling action on the course, including the Betway Queen Mother Champion Chase and the Glenfarclass Cross Country Chase.

Day Three of The Festival™, often dubbed ‘St Patrick’s Thursday’, takes place on Thursday 18 March 2021 and will be full of Irish flair on the racecourse once again.
There are two Championship races, including the Ryanair Chase and Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle, making for an unforgettable day of racing.

The biggest highlight in the Jump Racing calendar, The WellChild Cheltenham Gold Cup is sure to enter the history books for another year on Friday 19 March 2021.
Al Boum Photo created history in last year’s Gold Cup becoming just the second back-to-back winner this century and will be back in 2021, hoping for a magnificent hat-trick of wins.
