Slimbridge Wetland Centre closes to the public during Coronavirus crisis

Due to Coronavirus crisis social distancing, Slimbridge Wetland Centre, has announced that it is closed to the public until further notice.

Gloucestershire’s popular wildlife attraction, Slimbridge Wetland Centre, has closed its doors to members of the pubic during the Coronavirus crisis for the forseeable future – with officials emphasising that its birds and animals will be cared for throughout the closure.

Slimbridge Wetland Centre released a statement on Saturday 21 March 2020, which said: ‘We have done our best to stay open as somewhere for everyone to get fresh air and a dose of nature, things that are more important than ever during this difficult time.

‘However, our overriding concern is keeping everyone safe and healthy in light of the current guidance on social distancing.’

Whilst WWT centres are closed to the public, the charity WWT remains open, with organisers adding: ‘we will be stepping up our online content to help those of you who find yourselves suddenly responsible for your children’s education, to give you ideas for things to do in the home and garden and, importantly, to keep you connected to nature.’
