Take a trip back in time without ever leaving Gloucester as vintage car, fashion and music festival, Gloucester Goes Retro, returns this August bank holiday weekend.
Celebrating its 10th year, this summer's event is bringing the seaside to the streets, with roaming performers dressed as giant seagulls, sand sculptures and even pedaloes.
Kings Square will be kitted out with striped deckchairs for everyone to enjoy the free entertainment and there'll be classic amusements like 'face in the hole' boards for fun photo opportunities.
Down at Gloucester Docks there's live music and swing dancing at the Mariner's Square stage; tasty street food to tuck into; and the Military Village outside the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, where visitors can get up-close to a World War II Buick Hellcat tank.
And throughout the Gate Streets there'll be hundreds of vintage vehicles on display, spanning models from as far back as the early 1900s through to classic cars from the 2000s — a must-see for Gloucestershire's petrolheads!
Gloucester Goes Retro is organised and funded by Gloucester City Council in partnership with Gloucester BID – and is sure to be one of the highlights of the summer holidays.
Entry is free and entertainment gets started at 10am on Saturday 23 August 2025.
