Cotswold District Council is encouraging people across the county to take their four-legged friends along to villages and towns whilst they indulge in a meal out.
Whether dining at a centuries old pub in the Cotswolds, or stopping by a contemporary bistro for a nibble, there’s something to get even the most pampered of pups’ tails wagging.
Whether you’ve been exploring the gorgeous villages or walking across the undulating hills, the Cotswolds is brimming with brilliant places to sit down and grab a bite to eat, alongside your furry companion – meaning man’s best friend doesn’t need to be left out at mealtime!

A hidden gem located by the picturesque Broadwell village green, The Fox Inn offers a great refuge for walkers and their well-behaved fluffy friends. Alongside classic country pub dishes such as pie of the day and Donnington battered cod, the destination also offers a large beer garden for pups to play around in.
Having undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment, the Lygon Arms is considered one of the Cotswolds’ most luxurious dog-friendly locations, located in the picturesque village of Broadway.
After a busy day of dog walks and sightseeing, guests can dine with their pup in the Lygon Bar and Grill, a dog-friendly room adjacent to the main restaurant, or the Lygon Lounges where a Dog Menu will be available to choose from.

Nestled in Northleach, The Wheatsheaf Inn offers breath taking countryside scenery to take in before you settle down for a bite to eat.
The 17th century coaching inn has roaring fires in the winter, beautiful gardens in the summer and delicious seasonal fare such as Cajun spiced hake fillets and braised lamb shanks to make sure you – and your pooch – feel utterly pampered!
As well as enjoying good food and delicious ale alongside your four-legged friend in Jack Hare’s Bar at The Hare and Hounds in Tetbury, if you like enjoying your morning coffee alongside your fluffy pal, the hotel even serves breakfast for dogs and their owners! With lucky furry guests getting to enjoy sausages for breakfast.
Located on one of Cirencester’s oldest streets – Black Jack Street – doggy diners and their owners can tuck in to a delicious handcrafted menu featuring rarebit on sourdough toast and croque monsieurs.
Located in a pretty, classically Cotswolds village that’s perfect for walking and exploring, The Village Pub at Barnsley welcomes up to two well behaved pooches aged one year or older. Kick back anywhere in The Village Pub with your four-legged friends and dine together.

If you’ve built up an appetite from a substantial walk around the gorgeous Cotswold countryside, The Porch House in Stow-on-the-Wold offers a real hearty pub lunch in traditional Cotswold surroundings. Diners and their dogs can sit back and relax in the oldest inn in England, dating back to 947AD.
After exploring some of Stroud’s incredible beauty spots, two- and four-legged friends can relax at The Crown Inn nestled in Frampton Mansell. The 17th century cider house provides a cosy village pub feel for both you and your canine companion to relax and tuck into meal, made from quality, locally sourced ingredients.
Located just inside the Corn Hall in Cirencester, Diversitea Café offers a range of locally roasted coffee, afternoon teas, light lunches and cakes for owners to enjoy, with pups allowed to relax by your side.
The family and friends-run business makes for a wonderful location to grab a snack after exploring the lovely market town of Cirencester.
