Whether you’re usually a yoga bunny or couch potato, Gloucestershire’s fitness businesses have pulled out all the stops during the lockdown – launching virtual classes to help you stay active from home.
From dance inspired ballet barre to core strengthening Pilates, if a daily jog around the park just isn’t your thing, check out some of our favourite virtual workouts from around the county.
With Stretch & Core, High Intensity Workout and even Golf Fitness on offer, Personal Best Studio are helping people stay fit with online classes via Zoom.
Classes are free to join, but the studio is asking for a £1 voluntary donation, with all the proceeds being donated to Stroud Women’s Refuge. As well as helping you feel good physically, you can feel even better about helping local women in need during these tough times.
Get fit and get your little ones involved with virtual classes from BusyLizzy in Cheltenham. The fitness club’s virtual membership includes three classes streamed daily online for babies and toddlers, as well as new and pregnant mums.
For more information, see BusyLizzy Cheltenham offers virtual membership for mums in isolation.
With everything from sound healing to self-massage, The Isbourne’s series of ‘World Wide Wellbeing’ sessions can help viewers relieve anxiety and stay mindful.
Leisure at has a selection of virtual fitness available via The Cheltenham Trust YouTube channel. Offering short workouts to fun sessions for kids, and even waterless swimming lessons, the leisure centre is doing its best to keep everyone fit during lockdown.
Cheltenham Pilates and Yoga has a range of live classes and pre-recorded videos on its website for people to try at home, all led by professional and experienced instructors.
Choose from a range of 30-minute studio classes, or try out one of the ‘Lockdown Bootlegs’ filmed by instructors at home. See all the classes to try at cheltenhampilatesandyoga.co.uk.
Momentum Pole & Aerial are running live online sessions while the studio is closed. Classes span stretching, strength and conditioning and core blast for the pole, plus there’s even a ‘floorial hoop’ class for any aerialists missing their hoop classes!
With both faster and gentler paced Pilates classes, yoga and even ballet barre, One Grove in Cheltenham are helping people of all abilities stay fit at home with virtual classes streamed via Zoom.
Pay per class if you’re looking to try it out, or buy in blocks of six or 12 classes if you’re fully committed. See the virtual class timetable at onegrove.co.uk.
Cheltenham based Zest24 are using Zoom to run virtual fitness classes which can be done from home with minimal equipment, including regular HIIT sessions, stretch, Pilates and yoga. New members can get a free online class pass from the Zest24 website.
