The countdown to Christmas has officially started – and it’s never too early to start hunting for your perfect Christmas tree in Gloucestershire.

SoGlos has handpicked 18 places to find your real Christmas tree in 2021, spanning family-run garden centres, beautiful arboretums and independent nurseries, along with ideas for days out to make choosing your tree a truly festive occasion.

1. Real Christmas trees at The Nursery at Miserden

The Nursery at Miserden is offering a vast range of traditional and non-drop real Christmas trees from Saturday 27 November 2021, as well as seasonal plants and handcrafted wreaths for festive front doors.

Families can expect to find beautifully-shaped trees, ranging from smaller firs to 10-foot giants – with a handy reserve and collect service, too.

2. Real Christmas trees at The Fairview Gardener

Pick up a Christmas tree from The Fairview Gardener in Birdwood, near Gloucester, with pot-grown and fresh-cut Nordmann firs available now.

Also selling a lovely collection of seasonal decorations, the family-run garden centre is set up for late-night shopping on Thursdays throughout December, with everything visitors need to bring Christmas cheer into their homes.

3. Real Christmas trees at Batsford Arboretum

Combine a visit to the stunning Batsford Arboretum with a shopping trip for your Christmas tree this season, with both pre-cut and pot-grown options available from Saturday 27 November 2021.

Take your pick from Norway spruces, non-drop Nordmanns and Fraser firs, alongside a selection of beautifully handcrafted wreaths, decorations and mistletoe. Children can also take part in the new Christmas trail, spreading festive cheer throughout December.

4. Real Christmas trees at Westonbirt Arboretum

As well as offering a wonderful day out for the whole family, Westonbirt Arboretum near Tetbury is home to hundreds of sustainably-grown Christmas trees – available from Friday 26 November 2021.

Westonbirt’s expert tree team will be on hand to help visitors decide on the perfect tree – and the money raised will help to maintain Forestry England’s woodlands for future generations. Plus, don’t miss the magical Enchanted Christmas on selected dates, too.

5. Real Christmas trees at Cotswold Farm Park

Find your ideal Christmas tree at Cotswold Farm Park, Adam Henson’s popular family attraction, with premium Nordmann firs available to pre-order or browse on-site from Saturday 27 November 2021.

Make the most of your time on the farm, where little ones can meet friendly animals and run wild in the play areas – with the popular Enchanted Light Trail running throughout December as well.

6. Real Christmas trees at Trioscape Garden Centre

Catering for every kind of Christmas tree shopper, Trioscape in Newent has festive pines in all shapes and sizes – from freshly cut spruces to living potted trees, which can be replanted in your garden come new year.

Ideal for a festive family day out, its magical Christmas department is a must-visit, packed with decorations and gift ideas; while children can visit Santa’s grotto, meet his reindeer and even have breakfast with him on selected dates throughout December.

7. Real Christmas trees at Over Farm Market

Spoiling families for choice, Over Farm Market near Gloucester is offering its homegrown Christmas trees from Saturday 27 November 2021.

Ranging from three to 14 feet tall, there’s a huge variety of options available, from Norway spruces to Silver, Fraser and Nordmann firs. Those short on space can pick up a handmade wreath, lovingly crafted with foliage from the Christmas trees that struggled to grow.

8. Real Christmas trees at Winstones Ice Cream

Winstones Ice Cream in Stroud has transformed into a magical Christmas tree store for the festive season, stocking locally-grown, fresh-cut Norway spruces, Nordmann firs and blue spruces.

The famous ice cream parlour also offers environmentally-friendly, living rental trees, which you can return after the festive season. And if you find the tree of your dreams, you can even rent it again next Christmas!

9. Real Christmas trees at Goulding’s Christmas Trees

Trusted by families from all over the Forest of Dean, Goulding’s Christmas Trees in Dymock has been selling its festive firs for three generations – welcoming tree-hunters back from Friday 26 November 2021.

With non-drop Nordmann firs and traditional Norway spruces, as well as homegrown potatoes, festive wreaths and free mince pies on weekends, the family-run Christmas tree farm is also offering a 10 per cent discount to NHS workers. Better yet, a wood-fired pizza van will be on site every Saturday and Sunday.

10. Real Christmas trees from Cotswold Reindeer Herd

An enchanting festive wonderland, Cotswold Reindeer Herd’s site in Cirencester is now open, with a fantastic stock of freshly cut Christmas trees available to pre-order.

Fun for the whole family, collect your non-drop Nordmanns and classic Norway spruces before heading into Santa’s forest for the chance to meet his magic reindeer.

11. Real Christmas trees at Jolly Nice

Discover a delightful forest of Christmas trees between Stroud and Cirencester, as Jolly Nice transforms its paddock into a festive store, with a bumper crop of firs and spruces for sale from Friday 26 November 2021.

Head to the Christmas yurt to stock up on hampers, gifts and produce galore, not forgetting to place your turkey orders at the upmarket farm shop. This year, there’s the chance to meet two reindeers on selected dates, too.

12. Real Christmas trees from The Natural Christmas Tree Co.

Officially opening on Friday 26 November 2021, The Natural Christmas Tree Co. is a small and passionate family business, which has sold high-quality and sustainably grown Christmas trees from Prestbury Farm in Tibberton since 2013.

Promising the full festive experience, families can tuck into homemade mince pies, while choosing from its fresh stock of cut and pot-grown trees – with plenty of Christmassy treats for children, too.

13. Real Christmas trees at Cirencester Christmas Trees

Stocking a range of trees, including needle-retaining Nordmann firs and aromatic blue spruces, Cirencester Christmas Trees has an impressive selection of sizes and shapes to suit any home.

Beautifully-scented dried fruit wreaths, fresh mistletoe and decorations can also be found at the nursery, which has been supplying Gloucestershire with festive trees for over 30 years.

14. Real Christmas trees at Pamington Farm Christmas Tree Centre

Search for your perfect Christmas tree and meet some adorable farmyard friends at Pamington Farm’s popular Christmas Tree Centre near Tewkesbury, opening daily from Saturday 27 November 2021.

With traditional Norway spruces and needlefast Nordmann firs to choose from, Pamington’s trees have been lovingly grown by the Brown family for over 40 years – with the farm becoming one of the first serious Christmas tree growers in the whole country.

15. Real Christmas trees at Primrose Vale Farm Shop

Cheltenham’s Primrose Vale has teamed up with Cotswold Fir to offer a range of trees, spanning non-drop Nordmanns to traditional firs and spruces of all sizes, available from Friday 26 November 2021.

The popular farm shop, situated off Shurdington Road, also specialises in pot-grown trees – with its environmentally-friendly rent-a-tree service available for collection or delivery.

16. Real Christmas trees at Court Farm Shop

In addition to selling free-range meat, festive hampers and deli platters, Court Farm Shop near Cheltenham has a range of freshly cut and pot-grown Christmas trees on offer from Saturday 27 November 2021.

Pick from Norway spruces, Nordmanns and Fraser firs up to eight-foot-tall – and pucker up, as free bunches of mistletoe will be handed out with every tree!

17. Real Christmas trees at Dowdeswell Forestry

Spanning three to 15 feet tall, Dowdeswell Forestry in Cheltenham has been selling Christmas trees since 1985 – with British-grown Nordmann firs available from Friday 26 November; and Norway spruces from Friday 3 December 2021.

Those stocking up on logs for the winter can take advantage of its free delivery service. It also offers a Christmas tree collection and recycling service when the tinsel is stripped off in January.

18. Real Christmas trees at Minchinhampton Christmas Trees

With freshly cut Nordmanns, glossy Norway spruces and citrus-scented Fraser firs, as well as living potted trees, Minchinhampton Christmas Trees sources its festive pines from sustainable plantations across the UK.

Returning to Minchinhampton Scout Hut from Friday 26 November to Friday 17 December 2021, its selection of Christmas trees and hand-dressed wreaths are available to order for local delivery or collection by Monday 13 December 2021.
