What’s happening: Everyman Theatre's ever-popular annual pantomime returns, with this year's show Aladdin set to grant the wishes of audiences old and young. Directed by Blue Peter legend Peter Duncan, the show is sure to provide laugh out loud entertainment, with the hilarious Tweedy the Clown taking centre stage as Wishee Washee; while Daniel Beales plays Widow Twankey; and Ben Darcy stars as Aladdin. A brand-new production of the magical tale, this winter’s eagerly awaited show is sure to have families snapping up tickets, with plenty of boos, hisses and festive fun along the way.
SoGlos loves: Aside from the pantomime, Everyman's Studio Theatre will play host to two uplifting shows during the festive season. The Velveteen Rabbit hops onto the stage for an enchanting show, raising festive cheer with live music, songs and the chance to join in. Meanwhile The Old Curiosity Shop offers an exciting new adaptation of Dickens’ tale, which follows Nell, a young girl who lives with her beloved grandfather in his shop of curiosities. When Nell and her grandfather have to run away, they have only each other and have to face new challenges together.

What’s happening: Sprinkling festive cheer in the heart of Cheltenham, the annual Christmas Market promises a delightful shopping experience for all ages. Cheltenham Christmas Lights

What’s happening: The town will be alight with festive cheer following a sensational Christmas lights switch-on, complete with an illuminated parade, incredible characters and theatre-style entertainment. Organised by Cheltenham BID and Evenlode Productions, the show is themed around best-loved children's story, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Visitors can enjoy exciting entertainment as they watch the giant White Witch travelling through the town on her chariot, as she tries to stop Santa from turning on the lights. The show will culminate in a showdown at Imperial Gardens, between the White Witch with her six trolls, and Santa with his six elves.
SoGlos loves: Dressed with twinkling lights, Cheltenham will also be sprinkling festive cheer thanks to the annual Christmas Market. Featuring traditional chalets brimming with unique goods, shoppers can enjoy a pleasant browsing experience. Meet Father Christmas at Regent Arcade

What’s happening: Festive families can enjoy a fun-filled shopping trip at Regent Arcade during the Christmas season, and tick off their wish lists at the same time. Father Christmas will be putting a smile on Christmas shoppers’ faces when he visits the shopping centre to make sure every good little boy and girl get the chance to meet him. With Regent Arcade’s beautiful decorations up, and twinkling lights creating a great atmosphere, Santa will be wandering around, ready to add a dash of magic to shopping trips; while there’s also the chance to snap a selfie with the jolly red man, providing children with a festive memory they can cherish forever.
SoGlos loves: Aside from Father Christmas’s regular appearances, Cheltenham’s Regent Arcade is the perfect destination for seasonal shopping trips with the whole family. A highlight will be Elf School when visitors can enjoy elf-themed activities and an exciting retailer trail.

There’s also the chance to peruse seasonal stalls at the Christmas Market, taking place in the beautiful cloisters. Youngsters can look forward to appearances from Father Christmas and Oscar the Reindeer during the event, while mince pies, mulled wine and festive food will be on offer in the Monk’s Kitchen – all you need for a fabulous festive experience!
SoGlos loves: Set to sprinkle Christmas cheer through song, Gloucester Cathedral will host two Family Crib Services complete with a Lighting of the Christmas Trees; as well as two Christmas Carol Services, where visitors can enjoy traditional readings and classic carols. What's happening: Children are in for a fun-filled festive experience at Slimbridge Wetland Centre, when the jolly red man takes up residence in his magical grotto. He’ll be welcoming visitors who can enjoy either afternoon tea or breakfast with the elves, and a host of themed activities including marshmallow toasting; elf den building; arts and crafts; and icing gingerbread men. Meanwhile youngsters can pay a visit to Santa’s Post Office, sending their gift list all the way to the North Pole.
SoGlos loves: In addition to the seasonal show at Slimbridge, visitors can book their place at a truly unique event, experiencing the beauty of wild swans during its Swan Supper Evenings. Visitors can settle down in the cosy Peng Observatory to watch the swans, geese and ducks being fed on the floodlit lake, along with a commentary from the warden. Following the animals’ feeding, it’s time to head to the Kingfisher Kitchen for a delicious two-course dinner, which is sure to put a smile on everyone’s face.

Telling the tale of Dick Whittington and his journey to London, audiences are in good hands with this year’s dazzling show; writer and director Ben Crocker returns to the helm and is set to deliver another spectacular show, which will reign in the Christmas season in feel good style.

Santa’s Grotto at Land Rover Experience Eastnor

What's happening: Families can enjoy a magical visit to see Santa in his Grotto this Christmas with the Santa Package at Land Rover Experience Eastnor. Little ones can get in the festive spirit with a host of activities including tree decorating, pin the nose on Rudolph and bauble decorating. For a scrumptious treat, toast marshmallows before writing an all-important letter to Father Christmas. For an extra treat, there's the Santa and Drive Package which includes all of the festive treats of the Santa Package but with the added chance for adults to drive around the enchanting forest in an iconic Land Rover vehicle.
SoGlos loves: During the Santa and Drive Package*, children can sit in the back of the Land Rover and look at the map to find forest friends who are hidden in the woods.
How much: Santa Package costs £35 for a family of four, the Santa and Drive package costs £139 for a family of four.
