Forest of Dean-based NewSpace is looking to double its workforce to 245 staff – creating up to 120 new jobs in Gloucestershire.
The Lydney Harbour-based specialist manufacturer said it needs 30 fabricator welders, industrial paint sprayers and 60 other ‘specialists’ by the end of 2021.
The business creates temporary and residential housing, offices, canteens and shops which have been used at sporting venues including Silverstone, Old Trafford, Anfield, Twickenham and the Stade de France – as well as on the high-speed rail line HS2.
Nigel Allen, operations manager at NewSpace, said: ‘We are in a period of unprecedented growth and we simply have to expand to keep up with the demand for the buildings and spaces we supply.
‘Whether it’s a self-contained fish and chip shop, a Ben and Jerry’s ice cream parlour or temporary housing for the homeless, we produce some extremely versatile accommodation which is used all over the country. To keep doing that, we need skilled people.’
The firm, which already employs 125 staff, is working with Worcester recruitment firm GMP Recruitment to find the additional workers.
