Gloucestershire-based global engineering giant, Renishaw, is set to offer a record number of apprenticeships in 2022 as it continues what it calls ‘a positive year of recovery’.

As a long-standing advocate of apprenticeships, at all levels, the Wotton-under-Edge headquartered firm revealed to SoGlos that it will offer 80 apprenticeships in the new year, ahead of its official announcement.

‘Renishaw has consistently employed apprentices since 1979 because of the value they add to the company, and why we are recruiting for a record 80 apprentices in 2022,’ said Chris Pockett, head of communications for Renishaw.

He also revealed the firm would be taking on 96 graduates as well.

Renishaw employs 2,200 staff across five sites in Gloucestershire and describes itself as ‘a high precision metrology and healthcare technology group’ and a world leader in the field of metal 3D printing.

In October 2022 the business revealed it had exceeded its predictions of a strong recovery with full-year results showing profits up by 146 per cent to £119.7m.

Revenue for the full-year to Wednesday 30 June 2021 increased by 11 per cent to £565.6 million, with the business describing its balance sheet as ‘strong’.

Renishaw is also proud to be one of the lead sponsors of the SoGlos Gloucestershire Apprenticeship Campaign, championing the value of apprenticeships and breadth of opportunity within the county from November 2021 until February 2022.
