The Coconut Tree celebrates Christmas party season with a brand-new Cocotails menu

With seven brand-new drinks to try, Sri Lankan Cheltenham hotspot The Coconut Tree unveils its brand-new Cocotails menu – just in time for Christmas.

A firm favourite for its incredible Sri Lankan food, Cheltenham’s The Coconut Tree is launching its new Cocotail menu – just in time for Christmas party season.

After months of development, the new cocktail menu features seven brand-new sweet and fiery Cocotails and updated recipes for some of its most popular drinks – and it will be available from Thursday 18 November 2021.

There are 18 Cocotails to try in total, with new additions including the Now or Never Negroni made with Sri Lankan Columbo 7 Gin and served with a sour lolly; RaspBangin’ Martini made with fresh raspberries, Absolut vanilla vodka and Moose botanical liqueur; and the Sri Lankan Cinnamon Old Fashioned made with Bulleit bourbon, coconut arrack infused with cinnamon, smoking bitters and a giant coconut ice ball.

For two sharing, there’s the Banana Rama Tropicana made with banana rum, Ceylon arrack, pineapple juice, coconut water and lemonade, while the hugely popular Drunken Sri Lankan has had an upgrade and is now being served with a full bottle of Della Vite Prosecco from the Delevigne sisters.

There’s also a range of alcohol free Cocotails, including the Sunrise Sunrise and the Pi-No Colada.

Rashinthe Rodrigo, operations director at The Coconut Tree, said: ‘We pride ourselves on our warm Sri Lankan hospitality, so with our new Cocotail menu, we’ve made a real effort to include options for every preference.

‘We’ve made the most of our distillery contacts in Sri Lanka to include premium coconut arrack and Colombo 7 Gin, and also worked hard to bring in some exciting premium and up-and-coming brands – all at really accessible prices. It all fits with our TCT mantra; everyone is welcome at the table, no matter what.’

Brand director, Anna Garrod, added: ‘With Christmas just around the corner, we’re really excited to have our Cocotail menu ready just in time to help people celebrate; we’ve included some great low sugar and alcohol-free options on the menu, so there really is something for everyone.’

The Coconut Tree was founded in Cheltenham by five Sri Lankan friends aiming to take diners on a journey through Sri Lankan street food and botanical cocktails in a laid back, warm and welcoming environment. It now has eight venues across the country, with its newest restaurant opening in Reading in summer 2021.

Cocktail fans can try the new Cocotail menu at The Coconut Tree in Cheltenham from Thursday 18 November 2021.
