The Jug's Festive Feast menu can cater to groups of all sizes, whether it's an intimate table for two or a sit-down meal for up to 50 merrymakers. On the menu

Yuletide guests can enjoy either a two- or three-course meal, starting with choices like a smoked cheese souffle with spinach and wholegrain mustard sauce; celeriac and roasted chestnut soup with toasted ciabatta; or venison carpaccio with truffle mayo, rocket and a crostini.

Mains include a traditional roast turkey with pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, stuffing and honey-glazed veg; beef wellington with horseradish mash, roasted carrots and cavolo nero; for pescatarians, there's pan-fried hake with samphire, shrimp butter and julienne chips; and roasted beetroot wellington with new potatoes for vegans and vegetarians to tuck into.

Christmas carnivores can head to Cheltenham's premiere meaty eatery, Sef Steakhouse in the Quadrangle, with its special festive menu available from Tuesday 25 November 2025 until the big day itself – which features its own special set menu for merrymakers.

Individual dishes from the Sef Steakhouse festive menu will also be available to order a la carte during this period, too.

On the menu

Featuring an incredible array of expertly cooked dishes, diners can choose between three or four courses – with the option to order a dish to share, including beef wellington with vanilla mashed potato, winter vegetables and Malbec sauce; or a 1.1kg Tomahawk steak with a choice of sides and sauces.

Festive starters include spiced duck breast with cinnamon spiced cherries and red wine jus; grilled king prawns with grilled lemon and chimichurri; or salsify veloute with pine nuts and crispy shallots.

Then move on to a delicious main course of sous vide venison loin with parsnip puree, pickled carrots and a venison croquette; braised lamb shank with vanilla mashed potato, winter vegetables and red wine braised shallots; or a grilled polenta with tempura broccoli and courgette, smoked beetroot yoghurt and a black garlic and tamarind gel, for vegetarians and vegans.

Finally, pick out a dessert from a list that features apple tarte tatin with lemongrass ice cream; a classic sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream; or, for those with less of a sweet tooth, a cheese board packed with local cheeses, artisan crackers, grapes and a spiced fruit chutney.
