Gloucestershire’s very own spirited folk duo, The Black Feathers, will be bringing its award-winning sound to The Convent for one-night-only, on Saturday 18 October 2014.
Since forming in 2012, the band, comprising Ray Hughes and Sian Chandler, has been busy touring the length and breadth of the country, amassing a throng of new fans captivated along the way.
Drawing influences from the Americana and folk genres, The Black Feathers’ sound even rubs shoulders with edgy rock, peppered with ‘tight-as-blood’ harmonies.
And 2014 has been an impressive year for the pair to say the least. Not only did they embark on a seven-week US tour, including a sell-out show at Nashville’s Bluebird Café, but their debut EP, _Strangers We Had, enjoyed airplay on BBC Radio 2 and has been named by The Telegraph as one of the best folk albums of the year.
Sure to be a mainstay of the genre for years to come, here’s a chance to catch this local duo on your doorstep, before they hit the big-time.
