Editor's Choice FreeWith some 850 children in care in our county, local foster carers are not only essential, but urgently needed.
Gloucestershire foster carers give children in care the stability of staying at their school, as well as in the same area as friends and members of their family.
Which is why Gloucestershire County Council is holding an online information session on Monday 6 June 2022, to help residents find out if fostering is something they’d like to explore.
Fostering is open to anyone over 21. You can foster whether you’re single or in a relationship; in employment – or not; rent or own your home.
The free Zoom event, hosted by a social worker and experienced foster carer, will cover everything from the different types of fostering available, to the support on offer and the process of becoming a foster carer.
Participants will get to hear personal fostering stories from the event hosts and have any questions answered by experts.
For more information, whatever stage you’re at, email fostering@gloucestershire.gov.uk to request the Zoom link and joining information.
